Service Description

Teacher: Bianca Crawford Ages: Grade 4 to 7 Price: $300 for 9 weeks (Materials, curriculum alignment and feedback report included) Class Size: up to 15 students 9 week course (3 Feb - 31 March 2026) Homeschool Visual Art + Design & Technologies Years 3–7 | Tuesdays 1:00–2:30pm | Term course A hands-on, curriculum-aligned course created specifically for homeschool students. Across the term, children design, construct and decorate a functional moving puppet, combining Visual Art and Design & Technologies through drawing, planning, 3D construction, painting and simple mechanisms. Students work through the design process — investigate, plan, make, test and refine — while developing creativity, problem-solving and practical making skills in a supportive mixed-age group. Sessions also place a strong focus on social interaction, collaboration and confidence-building. Students will learn to: ✔ Develop and communicate ideas through drawing and planning ✔ Explore materials, tools and simple mechanisms ✔ Construct and refine a moving 3D object ✔ Apply painting, surface design and detailing techniques ✔ Reflect on their creative and design choices What’s included: ✔ Guided weekly lessons (40 min + 10min Brain Break + 40 min = 1.5 Hour weekly class) ✔ Student design & reflection booklet ✔ All materials provided ✔ End-of-term progress summary (not graded) ✔ Curriculum-aligned learning suitable for QLD Home Education Educator: Led by a fully qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Industrial Design and a Master of Teaching (Visual Art & Design & Technologies), with experience teaching across primary and secondary year levels. This is a compulsory form for all parents/ caregivers to complete and acknowledge.. 1. Participation & Safety Acknowledgement I understand that The Maker House runs hands-on creative workshops that may involve the use of art materials, craft tools, paint, glue, scissors, and other supervised equipment. I confirm that: I have notified staff of any allergies, medical conditions, additional needs, or behavioural concerns that may affect my child’s participation. My child is physically and emotionally able to take part in the workshop activities. I understand that while all care is taken to ensure a safe environment, The Maker House, its staff and facilitators are not liable for injuries resulting from ordinary workshop activities, accidents, or failure to follow instructions. 2. Media Consent (Photo & Video) I give permission for The Maker House to take photos and short videos of my child ONLY during workshops for: Social media posts Website galleries Marketing materials Print or digital promotional content I understand these images may be used without identifying students names and are intended to promote the positive, creative environment of The Maker House. I agree that I have nominated my acceptance or not in the booking form. 3. Drop-Off, Pick-Up & Conduct I understand that parents/guardians must drop off and collect children on time. If a child is under 5 years old, a carer/ parent will remain close by/stay with the child during the class. If someone else is collecting my child, I will notify staff in advance. I acknowledge that The Maker House maintains a positive and inclusive environment, and children are expected to follow instructions and behave respectfully. I have added in an alternative pick-up person (if required), including their name, contact details and drivers license number. Agreement By ticking the box, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this wavier and consent form.
