A dreamer. A curious being. A creative. A teacher. A designer. A life long learner. A traveller and a jack of all trades. ​

The life journey of a creative is hardly linear. Our paths twist and turn, interconnected and backtrack from time to time, as we evolve, shift and reshape like a piece of clay on a wheel. As we navigate through our paths we slowly refine our practices and work out our own paths in the chaos of choice and ability to create anything.

 

The Maker house came about in a personal hunt for a creative space to create and make my own works. Living in an apartment limits my ability to work in a garage or spare room. As I shift careers, stepping away from  running an art department and teaching art in the main stream school system.

The best gift I have learnt along my journey is the joy and pleasure to think differently, to solve problems and apply a creative approach to all parts of life. Being a yes person. A Mexican not a Mexican't. Saying yes, has lead me down roads I never thought I would grow and has opened doors to experience more opportunities than I could imagine. Its has filled my path with creative adventures like painting wedding shoes, freelance designing, wall murals, award winning installations and illustrating a mini children's book. 

 

I hope to bring all the skills I have gathered along my journey to invent The Maker House. To create a space that is welcoming, empowering and accessible for fellow creatives. A space to create, make and explore all your dreams and bring them to life. A place where big dreams grow in small spaces.
