About the Program Places and Spaces is a playful, hands-on mixed media art course designed especially for our Creative Cubs (Prep–Grade 3). This term, we expand beyond traditional landscapes and invite young artists to explore all kinds of environments and places — both real and imagined. From bustling cities to quiet gardens, construction zones to dreamy oceans, students will be encouraged to observe, imagine and interpret the spaces around them in their own unique way. With a focus on exploration, process and creative confidence, students will experiment with a wide range of materials and techniques while building a personal folio of vibrant, layered artworks to take home at the end of the term. Expect colour, texture and creativity through painting, cardboard construction, stamping, layering and more — with some projects inspired by artists and others driven purely by imagination. Throughout the Term, Students Will: Explore a variety of art materials including paint, markers, collage, cardboard and stamping tools Experiment with colour concepts including bold colour, limited palettes and monochromatic work Learn techniques such as layering, composition, texture-making and mark-making Develop fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination Build confidence in creative decision-making and personal expression Learn how to turn ideas and observations into finished artworks Create and curate a folio that reflects their artistic journey and growth What’s Included: All art materials Weekly guided art sessions A growing folio of completed artworks A supportive, creative studio environment What to Bring: Drink bottle Clothes that can get messy (aprons provided)
